According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency on the 3rd, active-duty police officer A (male, in his 30s) belonging to the Gyeongnam Police Agency and acquaintance B (male, in his 30s) were accused by two women in their 20s of giving them alcohol until they were intoxicated and then raping them in Seomyeon, Busan last October.

A and B are being investigated by the Busanjin Police Station on charges of sexually assaulting (quasi-rape) intoxicated women. Officer A, who is an active-duty police officer, has been suspended from duty.

A and B met two women in Seomyeon, Busanjin-gu, last October, drank alcohol together, and then had sexual relations. B, an internet broadcasting BJ, also streamed the scene of drinking with the women online that day.

The police investigation began when the women visited the Busanjin Police Station in the early morning of the incident day and filed a complaint stating they had been sexually assaulted.

The victims reportedly testified to the police that the sexual relations were under coercion.

On the other hand, A and B are said to be fully denying the contents of the complaint, claiming that there was consent.

As the police investigation began, the Busanjin Police Station notified the police station to which A belongs, and A was suspended from duty.

A police official stated, “It is true that we have received a complaint from women claiming sexual assault and are conducting an investigation. The testimonies from both sides are conflicting.”
