[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 1st that it held a meeting with the Gangjin-gun "Our Neighborhood Problem Solver Welfare Task Force" on the 30th of last month to promptly respond to welfare blind spots and crisis households, and to resolve inconveniences in daily life such as small-scale repairs and maintenance.


The attendees reviewed the activities of the Welfare Task Force in 2020 and once again reaffirmed the roles and duties of the Welfare Task Force.


The Welfare Task Force members present pledged to actively work on improving living inconveniences for socially vulnerable groups and discovering and supporting crisis households even in the post-COVID-19 era.


Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force was launched in February 2019 and operates with 5 to 10 members at the eup and myeon levels, centered on male and female leaders of the Gangjin-gun Saemaeul Association.


In particular, starting this year, they have been involved in the "Emergency Dispatch All-Purpose Repair Center" project, which has been ongoing since 2016, providing volunteer services such as LED light replacement, wireless remote control installation, wallpaper and flooring replacement, and window replacement, greatly helping residents.


Kang Seong-jae, President of the Gangjin-gun Saemaeul Association, said, "Let us come closer to places around us where help is needed and take the lead in making a happy Gangjin together."


Lee Seung-ok, the county governor, expressed gratitude to the Welfare Task Force members, saying, "Although you must be busy with your livelihood and Saemaeul Association activities, I thank the Welfare Task Force members who are working hard to create a livable Gangjin and a Gangjin without welfare blind spots through the business agreement between Gangjin-gun and the Saemaeul Association." He added, "We will actively support building a more solid resident-participation welfare safety net to create a happy and caring Gangjin."
