CJ Logistics Construction Division Wins JW Group Gwacheon New Office Building Construction Contract

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] CJ Logistics Construction Division announced on the 30th that it had won the contract for the construction of JW Group's new office building in Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi Province on the 27th.

The JW Group Gwacheon new office building has a total floor area of approximately 35,527㎡, with a construction cost of around 59 billion KRW. Construction is scheduled to begin in early next month and is expected to be completed by early 2023. The building will be constructed with 4 basement floors and 11 above-ground floors.

The JW Group new office building, planned to be built in Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town, which will feature business, education, culture, and residential functions, is designed around an integrated research and development (R&D) center that consolidates the group headquarters and the research organizations of each company, including JW Pharmaceutical.

CJ Logistics Construction Division has secured its seventh R&D center contract. Starting with the completion of CJ Blossom Park, the integrated food and bio R&D center of CJ CheilJedang in Gwanggyo, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi Province in 2015, it has consecutively undertaken the construction of R&D centers for companies such as Descente R&D Center, Kolmar Korea Naegok Integrated Technology Institute, Toray Korea R&D Center, Samsung SDI Research Building, and Samjin Pharmaceutical Central Research Institute, both domestic and global companies.

Sunjin Engineering Comprehensive Architecture Office, responsible for the design of JW Group's Gwacheon new office building, stated, "We aimed to create research and workspaces that maximize creativity and work efficiency through the harmonious combination of three segmented masses," and added, "We designed various types of plazas and rooftop landscaping to allow communication with the surrounding environment and provide healing."
