5 Tons of Kimchi Delivered to Low-Income and Single Mother Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Aekyung Industrial announced that on the 30th at 2 p.m., it will hold the '2020 Love Kimchi Sharing Delivery Ceremony' at the Aekyung Industrial headquarters located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, together with Hope Sharing People.
At this delivery ceremony, Aekyung Industrial will provide a total of 5 tons of kimchi to support vulnerable groups suffering from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The kimchi, provided in a total of 600 boxes, will be delivered to marginalized neighbors in the local community such as low-income families, single-mother families, elderly living alone, and facilities for the disabled through 14 organizations including the Seongsan 2-dong Community Service Center in Mapo-gu.
Since 2004, Aekyung Industrial has delivered kimchi directly made by its employees and volunteers to neighbors in difficult circumstances in our society every year at the end of the year. However, this year, considering safety due to the spread of COVID-19, it was decided to deliver the kimchi that has already been prepared.
The delivery ceremony will be attended by Kim Jeong-an, Chairman of Hope Sharing People, Lee Sun-hee, Head of Seongsan 2-dong in Mapo-gu, and Jae-young Im, CEO of Aekyung Industrial, among others.
An official from Aekyung Industrial said, "We hope that the kimchi delivered this time will help marginalized neighbors have a warm winter even if just a little," and added, "We will continue to expand various social contribution activities to promote a culture of warm companionship and sharing with neighbors in need."
