[Breaking] 131 Confirmed Cases at Seoul Aerobics Academy Over Four Days... n-th Wave Infection Ongoing

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] A cluster infection of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) triggered at an aerobics academy in Seoul is spreading rapidly. Over 130 people, including students and instructors, have tested positive in four days, making it the largest infection cluster in Seoul.


According to Seoul City on the 27th, 64 people were confirmed positive related to the aerobics academy in Gangseo-gu the previous day. After the first positive case was confirmed on the 23rd, the daily new confirmed cases surged from 5 to 60 to 64, resulting in a cumulative total of 131 confirmed cases over four days.


The confirmed cases from the previous day include 23 academy users such as students, 28 family members, 5 acquaintances, and 8 acquaintances or colleagues of additional confirmed cases. This indicates that secondary infections are already underway.


Among the 786 people classified as students, instructors, or their contacts who underwent diagnostic testing, 416 tested negative, and the rest are awaiting test results.
