This contract involves exporting "Okgwa Delicious Kimchi" to Ultari USA in the United States, worth 2.5 million USD over five years. The contract signing was attended by eight people, including Kim Gwontae, CEO of Okgwa Delicious Kimchi Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, and Shin Sanggon, CEO of Ultari USA.
Ultari USA (CEO Shin Sanggon) was established in 2006, with its headquarters in the United States and a Korean branch office in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk. The company sells premium agricultural products from Korea throughout the United States via online and offline channels.
In particular, this contract was signed as an exclusive distribution agreement for five years because "Okgwa Delicious Kimchi" is well known as a premium kimchi made using domestic ingredients.
Kim Gwontae, CEO of Okgwa Delicious Kimchi Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, stated, "Starting with the export of 6,560 kg of napa cabbage kimchi, chonggak kimchi, and baek kimchi on November 9, we plan to expand exports to various products such as aged kimchi, kkakdugi, and green onion kimchi beyond the initial three items."
A county official said, "We congratulate and encourage the signing of the five-year exclusive distribution contract for U.S. exports, achieved despite the difficult conditions caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. We will work together to ensure that Okgwa Delicious Kimchi not only exports to the U.S. but also opens export routes worldwide."
