Applied Windproof and Breathable Material... Detachable Taegukgi Signature Wappen Applied
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Outdoor brand K2 launched the light version of its signature heavy down jacket 'Kobold,' called 'Kobold Light,' on the 27th.
The K2 Kobold series is a steady-selling heavy down jacket from K2, loved by consumers every year since its first release in 2011, known for its excellent warmth, windproof performance, and its trademark Taegukgi patch design.
The newly released Kobold Light is a mid-heavy short padding jacket designed based on the K2 Heritage Down Kobold. Compared to the heavy down Kobold, it is lighter and less bulky, making it suitable for everyday wear.
It uses goose filling certified by the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), which ensures that feathers are not forcibly taken from live animals. The material is highly windproof and breathable, allowing worry-free wear even in winter snow or biting winds.
Made with high-strength nylon yarn, it offers excellent durability, and the Vislon waterproof zipper provides superior water resistance for daily use. Velcro is applied to the zipper closure and sleeve areas to tighten and block cold wind from seeping in, enhancing warmth.
The Kobold Light features the signature detachable Taegukgi patch and is available in three colors: Shadow Gray, Dark Blue, and Black. A Kobold Light Dokdo Edition version was also released, adding Dokdo lettering to the Taegukgi patch and a realistic Dokdo print on the lining.
Meanwhile, K2 released not only the Kobold Light but also the newly launched 'Kobold Original' and the long-length style 'Kobold Versina' as part of the Kobold series this year. The Kobold Versina was released in a limited edition of 1,025 pieces to commemorate Dokdo Day (October 25).
A K2 representative said, “Kobold Light is a product that combines the style and sensibility of K2’s steady seller Kobold with a lighter and less bulky design, making it ideal for daily wear. We have expanded the range of choices within the Kobold series so customers can purchase according to their style and usage.”
