37 New COVID-19 Cases in Gyeongnam in One Day... 7 More from Jinju Village Leaders Linked to Jeju Training Spokesperson Kim Myung-seop is giving a COVID-19 briefing.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] Seven additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) linked to community leaders in Jinju, Gyeongnam, were reported on the afternoon of the 26th.


As of 5 p.m. that day, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that 15 new cases were confirmed: 7 in Jinju, 4 in Changwon, 2 in Gimhae, and 2 in Yangsan.


During the COVID-19 response briefing, Gyeongnam Province stated that seven men and women in their 20s to 60s residing in Jinju (Gyeongnam cases 557?558, 563?567) tested positive.


All seven new confirmed cases in Jinju are related to community leaders who had attended training in Jeju. Accordingly, the total number of confirmed cases linked to the Jinju community leaders has risen to 59.


In Changwon, two additional confirmed cases were reported: a man in his 60s (case 555) and a man in his 40s (case 556), both related to the 'Arari Danran Pub.'


Other cases include a woman in her 50s in Gimhae (case 559) who had contact with a confirmed case from Busan, and a woman in her 20s in Gimhae (case 560) who had contact with a confirmed case from Cheonan Asan. Contacts with confirmed cases from other regions also tested positive consecutively.


A woman in her 50s in Changwon (case 554), a woman in her 30s in Yangsan (case 562), and a woman in her 60s in Changwon (case 568) are currently under investigation for their infection routes. A man in his 40s in Yangsan (case 561) tested positive after entering the country from the Czech Republic.


As a result, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has increased to 565 (369 discharged, 195 hospitalized, 1 deceased).
