[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Ki-hyun, a member of the People Power Party, criticized Wang Yi, China's Foreign Minister, for being 25 minutes late to a meeting with Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-hwa, calling it "the result of a learned behavior caused by the Moon administration's excessively submissive diplomacy."
On the 26th, Kim said on Facebook, "Wang Yi's 25-minute tardiness to the meeting with Minister Kang is not a simple mishap."
He pointed out, "Although it was said that he was late due to traffic, he actually left the accommodation late from the start," adding, "This is not an excuse born out of regret or embarrassment toward those who waited, but a learned behavior resulting from the Moon administration's excessively submissive diplomacy based on pro-China servility."
Kim criticized, "When Wang Yi visited Korea last December, he was nearly 40 minutes late to a standing luncheon gathering with about 100 figures from various sectors, but instead of apologizing, he arrogantly told Korea, 'Do not only side with the United States.' Even then, the Moon administration remained silent and merely tried not to offend Wang Yi's mood."
He highlighted that the government did not even issue a protest statement when Chinese President Xi Jinping referred to the Korean War as an 'invasion by American imperialists' last October, and also pointed out that in May, the government willingly pre-notified China about THAAD-related information and actively promoted that 'China was not negative' about it. He emphasized, "Through these series of incidents, China clearly recognized the Moon administration's stance and learned that it could diplomatically insult Korea without consequences."
Kim raised his voice, saying, "The problem is that the humiliating submissive diplomacy of the Moon administration could shake the future of the Republic of Korea, which our people and future generations should enjoy. How will we solve the fine dust problem immediately?"
He accused, "At the root of the excessively submissive diplomacy toward China is a hidden intention to use President Xi Jinping's visit to Korea to stage a fake peace show similar to the US-North Korea Singapore summit two years ago, aiming to leverage it for the by-elections in April next year. If that is the case, it is an act of selling out national interests to extend the regime."
