Jangseong-gun Accepting Applications for 'Government-Distributed Rice Seeds' Until the 15th of Next Month

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 26th that it is accepting applications for ‘government-supplied rice seeds’ for high-quality rice production until the 15th of next month.

Government-supplied seeds are high-quality seeds that are strictly quality-controlled at each production stage, with high purity and well-preserved unique varietal characteristics.

They have a high germination rate, which is expected to increase yield and produce high-quality harvests.

According to the supply plan of the National Seed Management Office for government-supplied rice seeds, the county plans to supply farmers with 120 tons of nine varieties, including newly added Jomyeong 1-ho and Saecheongmu from next year, as well as Dongjinchal, Saeilmi, Sindongjin, Baekokchal, Mipum, Il, and Yeonghojinmi.

Applications can be made by visiting the administrative welfare center of the applicant’s town or township and writing down the desired variety and quantity.

The required seed amount is 50 kg per 1 hectare, with applications based on 20 kg bags.

The county will continue the ‘rice seed subsidy project’ next year, following this year.

This project supports the difference between the government-supplied seed price and the purchase price by 10,000 KRW per bag (20 kg), helping to reduce farmers’ burden and greatly expanding the distribution of government-supplied seeds.

Additionally, the county provides customized support for potting soil, fertilizer, seedling box treatment agents, liquid silicic acid, hardening agents, joint pest control, grain dryers, forklifts, and more, reducing farmers’ operating costs.
