[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 26th that it will focus its efforts on the safety of examinees taking the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) on the 3rd of next month and on implementing strengthened quarantine management measures due to COVID-19.
First, to prepare for emergency patients occurring inside the test sites, 119 paramedics will be assigned to all test locations. These paramedics are certified professionals capable of responding quickly and efficiently not only to COVID-19 related issues but also to any emergency situations.
Last year, at the CSAT test sites, they transported two emergency patients to hospitals and provided first aid to 14 individuals on-site, helping to ensure smooth test operations.
In addition, support will be provided for transporting examinees with disabilities or mobility difficulties, and confirmed COVID-19 cases and those in self-quarantine will be transported more safely using negative pressure ambulances to designated hospitals and separate test sites.
Examinees or parents wishing to use this service can make a reservation by calling 119 or the fire station.
Lee Jeong-ja, head of the city’s Rescue and Emergency Department, said, “During this critical time due to COVID-19, we will do our utmost inside and outside the test sites to ensure the safest possible CSAT.”
