Busanhang 'Sea-Through Marine Concert' First Introduction ... Enjoy Marine Experience at Home
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan Port Festival, which once adorned the Busan North Port area with dazzling fireworks and sounded a fanfare, will be held as an online home festival this year.
The Busan Metropolitan City (Acting Mayor Byun Seong-wan) announced on the 26th that the "13th Busan Port Festival" will be held online from 5 p.m. on the 28th.
This year's festival will be conducted as a "See-Through Marine Concert," the first of its kind in Korea held on the sea, and a "Home Festival" featuring various marine experiences that families can safely enjoy at home. No in-person events will be held due to the COVID-19 situation.
The "See-Through Marine Concert" is a new concept cultural content combining a yacht tour and concert, a program that can only be enjoyed in Busan.
Originally, through advance reservations, citizens were to enjoy a yacht ride with a Busan Port sunset tour and concert viewing, but due to the resurgence of COVID-19, it was changed to a no-audience online broadcast.
The marine concert will feature the emotionally outstanding vocalist "Jung In," top-class premium vocalist "Kim Tae-woo," "Oksang Dalbit," who will warmly embrace the romantic sea with their warm tone, and the romantic music icon "10cm." Local musicians "Band Girin" and "Soulist" will also perform.
The "Home Festival Experience" is an educational and experiential program that can be enjoyed with family and acquaintances. Various experiences such as model ship building, marine exploration ships, and lighthouse making have been prepared.
To allow many citizens to participate, a special exhibition linked to the experience kit site has also been prepared for the Busan Port Festival. Online Busan Port Festival content will also be produced to widely promote Busan Port.
Acting Mayor Byun Seong-wan said, "It is unfortunate that visitors cannot come to the event site due to the recent resurgence of COVID-19, but we have planned it so that the feeling of the festival can be fully enjoyed online," and added, "We will nurture the See-Through Marine Concert as a core content representing the Busan Port Festival."
The online broadcast of the See-Through Marine Concert can be viewed on the "Busan Culture and Tourism Festival Organizing Committee" YouTube channel at 5 p.m. on the 28th, and the Home Festival experience can be applied for on the official website starting December 1.
