[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongsangnam-do will hold an event to eradicate violence against women from the 25th to December 1st in commemoration of the "1st Women's Violence Eradication Week."

The province plans to promote videos containing the meaning of eradicating violence against women and prevention activities by the province, the Women's Emergency Hotline 1366 Gyeongnam Center, and local solidarity groups in each city and county through the websites and social media of each organization in early December. Additionally, the public service advertisement for domestic violence and digital sex crime prevention produced last September will be broadcast again through local broadcasting stations for one month starting at the end of November.

Furthermore, those who have devoted themselves to raising public awareness of violence against women, eradicating violence, and protecting and supporting victims throughout local communities will be encouraged with awards.

Han Mi-young, Director of the Women's Policy Division of the province, stated, "Violence against women, including digital sex crimes, is appearing in increasingly diverse forms," and added, "We hope for the continuous interest and participation of residents to create a safe Gyeongnam free from violence against women."

Meanwhile, this year Gyeongsangnam-do has been striving to create a social atmosphere for the prevention and eradication of violence against women by implementing various awareness improvement projects, including producing and distributing public service advertisements for domestic violence and digital sex crime prevention; establishing and operating a mobile illegal camera experience room and virtual reality (VR) experience zone; producing and distributing simple detection cards for illegal cameras; and conducting surveys and forums on prostitution awareness.
