BTS "Grammy Nomination, a Groundbreaking Event in the Music Industry"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The group BTS became the first Korean pop music artists to be nominated for the American music awards show, the Grammy Awards, which they described as a groundbreaking "event" in the music industry.

On the 24th (local time), BTS appeared on the American CBS talk show "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and stated this during a virtual interview.

When asked about the significance of the Grammy nomination, leader RM replied, "We know that this is not only a huge step for us but also a groundbreaking event for the music industry." He added, "It feels like our efforts are finally being rewarded. This is the greatest honor we have received so far."

Earlier that day, BTS was nominated for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" at the 63rd Grammy Awards, which will be held on January 31 next year.

Right after the nomination announcement, they expressed their hopes through their agency BigHit Entertainment, saying, "Being nominated makes us want to win and we are looking forward to it."

On BTS’s official Twitter, they also wrote, "We thank everyone who listened to and empathized with our music during difficult times." They emphasized, "Above all, it is ARMY who made the miracle of us becoming 'Grammy-nominated artists.' We are always grateful and love you."
