[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seocho District Council (Chairperson Ansook Kim) opened the 302nd 2nd regular session for a period of 27 days from November 25 to December 21.
During this session, a comprehensive administrative audit will be conducted to review the district government’s work over the past year, and the 2021 budget proposal totaling 746.7 billion KRW, which is 48 billion KRW more than this year’s budget, will be examined.
Chairperson Ansook Kim stated in the opening remarks, “This regular session is an important period to conclude the year’s legislative activities and plan for the new year. It includes a comprehensive administrative audit of the district government’s work over the past year, district government inquiries, and the review and resolution of the 2021 budget proposal.”
She continued, “The council and the executive branch must devote all their capabilities to protecting the health and safety of residents who are suffering unprecedented hardships due to COVID-19 and to reviving the stagnant local economy.”
Finally, she concluded the opening remarks by saying, “I ask the council members and the council secretariat to cooperate fully with thorough COVID-19 prevention measures during the nearly one-month regular session so that the session can be concluded without any issues.”
Before the opening of the first plenary session of this regular meeting, council member Jinam Park gave a 5-minute free speech.
Also, during the plenary session, the following were handled: ▲ Proposal explanation by the Director of the Planning and Finance Bureau on the 2021 general and special account revenue and expenditure budget and fund operation plan ▲ Resolution on the formation of the Budget and Accounts Special Committee ▲ Ordinance on the recommendation of Seocho District Council Secretariat staff ▲ Ordinance on the operation of proactive administration in Seocho District ▲ Partial amendment ordinance on the installation and operation of the Seocho District Senior Citizens’ Cultural and Leisure Complex Facility ▲ Partial amendment ordinance on the establishment and operation of the Seocho District Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund ▲ Consent for the contribution to the Seocho Cultural Foundation.
Along with this, before the adjournment, council member Kyunghee Jeon made a procedural speech.
Meanwhile, the 2nd regular session, which started with minimized attendance in accordance with the social distancing level 1.5 measures due to the spread of COVID-19, is scheduled to close after the following: administrative audit from November 26 to December 2, 2nd plenary session on December 3, 3rd plenary session on December 7, review of budget proposals by each standing committee and the Budget and Accounts Committee from December 8 to 20, and the 4th plenary session on December 21.
