[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Display announced on the 25th that it has carried out its 2021 regular executive appointments, including the promotion of 3 executives to Senior Vice President and the new appointment of 16 executives to Vice President, totaling 19 promotions, through its board of directors.

LG Display selected talents who have significantly contributed to achieving the three major focus tasks under the thorough meritocracy principle and future readiness policy: the mainstreaming of large-size organic light-emitting diode (OLED), normalization of small- and medium-size plastic OLED (P-OLED) business, and acceleration of structural innovation in liquid crystal display (LCD) focusing on high value-added areas such as IT.

LG Display promoted three executives to Senior Vice President who contributed to strengthening differentiated competitiveness across the business, including Hyunwoo Lee, Head of TV Operation Innovation Group, who contributed to improving the profitability of OLED TVs, and Jinkyu Lee, Head of Business Innovation Group, who enhanced productivity through DX-based infrastructure establishment.

Additionally, 16 executives were newly appointed as Vice Presidents, including Jiho Baek, OLED Cell R&D Manager, who laid the foundation for early normalization of the small- and medium-size P-OLED business through new P-OLED device development and mass production, as well as those who achieved outstanding results in OLED production, development, marketing, and quality.

Female talents who stood out in each field were also boldly selected.

Heeyeon Kim, Vice President in charge of BID and IR, who became LG Display’s first female Senior Vice President, was recognized for building a business intelligence foundation and strengthening business competitiveness by discovering market and customer insights, and will take charge of the Management Strategy Group overseeing strategy, marketing, and new business development.

Jinnam Park, Vice President in charge of Purchasing 2, was appointed as Head of the Purchasing Group overseeing company-wide procurement, recognized for her meticulousness, technical capabilities for building the OLED ecosystem, purchasing expertise, and business insight.

To accelerate the business structure transition to next-generation OLED, LG Display newly appointed Sooyoung Yoon, Senior Vice President and Head of the Display Research Institute who has led OLED future technology development, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

This regular executive appointment will take effect from January 1, 2021.
