[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Jeong Jin-seok, a member of the People Power Party, criticized President Moon Jae-in, calling him a "truly cowardly president" regarding the suspension of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's duties.

On the 25th, Jeong said on Facebook, "The person who appointed Yoon as Prosecutor General told him to strictly investigate the living power. As the prosecution's investigation net tightened around the power layer by layer, they tightly bound him to paralyze the prosecution," expressing his criticism.

He asked again, "Why is President Moon doing this to Prosecutor General Yoon?" and questioned, "Is it because power is declining, the road ahead is long, and there is no time to be picky? Is this really the way for the Moon Jae-in administration to survive?"

Jeong criticized, "The tyranny of the Moon Jae-in administration, led by Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, is an unprecedented violation of the rule of law that I have neither heard of nor experienced before," and added, "Is 'prosecution reform' what you call relentlessly investigating the wife, who married after her fifties, and her family with 'separate investigations' until they are completely exhausted?"

Jeong pointed out, "Prosecutor Yoon Seok-yeol endured the insults inflicted by the previous administration," and said, "I anticipated early on the power oppression that would come to him. Of course, I did not expect it to be this shameless and blatant."

He added, "During the last general election, I promised at the campaign site that I would take the lead in protecting my hometown friend Yoon Seok-yeol," and said, "If Prosecutor General Yoon can no longer fight against injustice and unfair oppression as a prosecutor, he will continue the 'Yoon's war' even if he has to resign and step down. I will keep my promise as well."
