Biden: "America Gets Stronger When Allies Cooperate"

On the same day, Biden made the remarks while introducing the nominees for the new administration's foreign and security team in Wilmington, Delaware.

Biden said, "(My teams) will embody my belief that the United States is strongest when cooperating with its allies. We need to realign and renew America's alliances."

Biden mentioned that his foreign and security team is ready to lead the world and that the United States will take on a global leadership role in the Pacific and Atlantic.

Biden expressed hope that the outstanding nominees will be swiftly confirmed by the Senate and requested that the Republicans cooperate in the Senate confirmation process.

Each nominee also expressed their aspirations. Tony Blinken, nominee for Secretary of State, said, "We must approach diplomacy with both confidence and humility as equal measures," sharing his thoughts on the nomination.

Jake Sullivan, nominee for National Security Advisor, said, "We will not lower our guard against ongoing threats."

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, nominee for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, emphasized, "America is back. Multilateralism is back. Diplomacy is back."

John Kerry, nominee for Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Change, said, "To end the climate crisis, the whole world must come together," adding, "Failure is not an option."
