Lee Jong-beom explained the first meeting, saying, "(My wife) said the place was really good, so I went there and saw Yeon-soo there too."
Lee Yeon-soo said, "(Lee Jong-beom's wife) is the same age as me, so we became friends."
Lee Jong-beom's wife, Jung Yeon-hee, is one year younger than him and is 50 years old this year. The two reportedly met as a fan and player at Jamsil Stadium in 1994.
Jung Yeon-hee graduated from Soongui Women's College and studied fashion design in Paris, France.
Meanwhile, Lee Jong-beom is 51 years old this year. He married Jung Yeon-hee in 1997, and they have two children: a son, Lee Jung-hoo, and a daughter, Lee Ga-hyun. Their son Lee Jung-hoo is actively playing as a professional baseball player for the Kiwoom Heroes.
After retiring in 2011, Lee Jong-beom has been working as a coach and is currently serving as a second-team training coach for the Chunichi Dragons.
Lee Jong-beom was also a topic of interest for being the same age as actor Choi Sung-guk. Despite their similar ages, the long athletic career of Lee Jong-beom and the appearance of Choi Sung-guk made them look somewhat different in age.
