Gyeongnam Province Holds Sharing Culture Events Including Hanging Love Fruits

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] On the 24th, Gyeongnam Province, Korea Aerospace Industries Co., Ltd. (hereinafter ‘KAI’), and the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea held an event to promote a culture of sharing, including hanging the Fruit of Love, in celebration of the year-end and New Year holidays.

The event was attended by Kim Kyung-soo, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, Ahn Hyun-ho, President of KAI, and Kang Ki-chul, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea.

The event proceeded in the order of a business agreement ceremony to expand the culture of sharing, the Fruit of Love hanging campaign, and a donation ceremony.

First, Gyeongnam Province, KAI, and the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea signed a business agreement to expand corporate sharing culture.

KAI decided to create a ‘Good Workplace’ where about 2,000 executives and employees voluntarily contribute donations every month to share together. The province promised to actively support the expansion of the culture of sharing through corporate social contribution, and the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea pledged to oversee the management of donations and related tasks.

Next, starting with Governor Kim Kyung-soo, a relay campaign for hanging the Fruit of Love was held. Going forward, the Chairman of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council and the Superintendent of Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education will continue the campaign to foster a fundraising atmosphere for helping neighbors through the Fruit of Love.

Finally, a donation ceremony was held for 500 million KRW in winter heating expenses and 50 million KRW worth of winter overcoming supply kits.

The 500 million KRW for winter heating expenses was provided by the Community Chest of Korea, and the 50 million KRW worth of winter overcoming supply kits was contributed by KAI executives and employees who united their intentions.

Accordingly, the Community Chest of Korea plans to provide 200,000 KRW in winter heating expenses to 2,500 low-income households so that vulnerable residents can spend a warm winter, and to supply heating supplies worth 50,000 KRW each to 1,000 households.

Governor Kim Kyung-soo said, “I am grateful to KAI for joining us to expand the culture of sharing despite the difficulties faced by the aerospace industry due to the impact of COVID-19,” and added, “You show the warmth of donating and sharing in difficult times, and this year as well, I will actively support achieving the 100℃ Love Thermometer as in last year.”
