[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-eun] On the 23rd, Jo Su-jin, a member of the People Power Party, criticized the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "The ruling party is so desperate, constantly scheming how to divide the people this way and that."
On the same day, Jo said on her Facebook, "A person who is a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party mocked the People Power Party by asking, 'Does the leadership even exist?'" She questioned, "The future and prospects of the Republic of Korea are neglected, and the ruling party, which frequently tramples on the main opposition party and tries to create a 'monster institution' that is not even in the Constitution, does it do such things because it has leadership?" Jo referred to the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) being promoted by the government and ruling party as a "monster institution" and asked, "And yet, are they really 'supreme' council members?"
She added, "Only when productive policies or bills are presented can the main opposition party have a party stance on them," and criticized, "The ruling party is pushing bills that make the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy a 'homeless angel' and rushing them through, so how can the main opposition party have a party stance on such matters?"
She further stated, "Bills should be proper bills, and policies should be proper policies for the other side to even consider discussion," and said, "Even the Open Democratic Party, once called the 'worst ruling party' in history, would cry and turn away at this ruling party." She continued, "They intend to appoint Minister Choo Mi-ae as the head of the CIO, aiming to block regime scandals like the Cho Kuk incident, Lime fraud case, and Optimus fraud case."
Earlier, on the 21st, Yang Hyang-ja, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party, said on her Facebook, "The People Power Party was split in half over the Gadeokdo New Airport," and added, "Their political skills are worse than a school student council. Does the People Power Party even have leadership? Without a party stance, how can cooperation be possible?"
