‘2% Fee Reduction’ Sejong to Operate Public-Private Partnership Delivery App Starting Next Month

[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] A public-private partnership delivery app service with brokerage fees below 2% will be operated in Sejong.

Sejong City announced on the 23rd that it signed a business agreement with six operators of the Sejong public-private partnership delivery apps. According to the agreement, each operator will sequentially provide related services starting next month.

The public-private partnership delivery app operators will receive fees below 2%, which is significantly lower than the 6-12% brokerage fees charged by general commercial delivery app operators.

In addition, small business owners do not have to pay separate entry fees or advertising fees after registering as affiliated stores on the delivery apps. The city expects this to reduce the management burden on local small business owners.

Furthermore, consumers using the apps can order food and other items through the delivery apps and pay with Yeominjeon only at stores registered as Yeominjeon affiliated stores, receiving a 10% cashback benefit just like in offline stores.

The city plans to allow each operator to start related services sequentially as soon as they complete recruiting affiliated stores and integrating Yeominjeon payment methods next month.

At that time, small business owners and consumers can choose and use the apps based on service provision and convenience among the six delivery apps.

The companies participating in the project are Manna Planet Co., Ltd. (Bureusim Zero), Meokkebi Co., Ltd. (Meokkebi), Shopchain Co., Ltd. (Somunnan Shop), Airnew Co., Ltd. (Whiparam), Korea Payment Authentication Co., Ltd. (Baesyulleong), and Honeybiz Co., Ltd. (Ddingdong).

Kim Hoe-san, head of the city’s Corporate Support Division, said, “The public-private partnership delivery apps reduce commission costs for small business owners and offer consumers the convenience of using Yeominjeon online. We ask for active participation and cooperation from local small business owners and citizens to ensure the project is successfully established in the field.”
