[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] On the 23rd, Kim Ki-hyun, a member of the People Power Party, demanded President Moon Jae-in, saying, "Mr. President, where are you now?" and "Please hold a press conference."

In a post on his Facebook on the same day, Rep. Kim said, "If you continue to fall into selective silence, how do you intend to handle the uncontrollable national anger that will follow?"

Rep. Kim pointed out, "The country is in chaos right now. Skyrocketing house prices, soaring jeonse prices, tax bombs, job annihilation, economic collapse, and rampant privilege and unfairness have pushed the people's suffering to the extreme," adding, "The fake peace show has been exposed, and it seems that the denuclearization of North Korea is already impossible."

He continued, "At times like this, the president, who should come forward before the people and voluntarily hold a press conference to demonstrate leadership befitting a leader, remains confined within the palace, causing the people’s anger to boil over."

He also criticized, "Due to the excessive exercise of power by Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, the disgraceful fight with Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl has been ongoing for nearly a year, causing stress to the entire nation," and questioned, "Yet the president, who holds the appointment and dismissal authority, hides in the background. Is this really a normal country?"

He added, "If President Moon demands, 'When will the Wolseong Unit 1 be shut down?' and then remains indifferent to the wrongful policy execution by his subordinates, wouldn’t he be criticized for lacking the dignity of a leader?"

Regarding the government’s real estate policy, Rep. Kim criticized, "After stirring up all the house prices across the country, if you have prepared your own residence in Yangsan and think you can ignore the public’s housing pain, I don’t believe you would think that way," adding, "Then shouldn’t you provide a clear answer to the cries of the house-less common people?"

On the COVID-19 quarantine measures, he said, "The Blue House took credit for the success of K-quarantine and praised itself, but when the epidemic resurged, it hastily shifted responsibility by calling the people murderers," and pointed out, "Taking credit when things go well and shifting blame to subordinates while hiding when responsibility arises is cowardly and unworthy of a leader. Even a class president at school would be impeached immediately for such behavior."

Finally, he urged, "Stop hiding behind the Moon (文) Lisan Fortress," and added, "It seems as if a thick soundproof wall has been installed around the president. I earnestly appeal to correct this abnormality and show a leader-like appearance, please."
