BC Card and Kyung Hee University Sign Big Data Industry MOU... "Promoting Consulting Business"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] BC Card announced on the 23rd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kyung Hee University to utilize big data in various fields and will actively promote consulting projects.

The MOU was conducted in writing during the first half of the year due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and both parties agreed to mutually cooperate for the development of the big data industry, including ▲ joint research and technical guidance ▲ development of educational programs and establishment of cooperation models ▲ consulting to revitalize the commercial districts on Kyung Hee University campus and surrounding areas.

First, consulting will be conducted by utilizing payment data owned by BC Card to analyze sales in the university neighborhood commercial districts and other university commercial areas, which have been depressed due to COVID-19, analyze main customer attributes, and average business duration by industry, and find areas for improvement.

In addition, customized startup reports will be provided to Kyung Hee University members considering entrepreneurship by combining reports and card consumption analysis data provided on the financial big data platform operated by BC Card.

Furthermore, through industry-academia cooperation, excellent professionals will be trained, and on-site training and internship programs will be operated to promote various education, startups, and government-funded projects utilizing big data.

Park Sang-beom, Head of the Financial Platform Division (Executive Director) at BC Card, said, "It is expected that cooperation between companies possessing diverse data and universities with AI and data analysis capabilities will be strengthened," adding, "We will do our best to strengthen industry-academia cooperation based on big data and launch intelligence products that can be commercialized."
