[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] As the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea shows no signs of slowing down, new confirmed cases continued to emerge across the country on the 21st.

According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and other local governments on the 21st, a total of 255 new confirmed cases were reported nationwide from midnight to 6 p.m. that day.

Based on the trend, the number of new confirmed cases announced at midnight on the 22nd is expected to decrease slightly but is still anticipated to remain in the 300s.

Looking at the interim confirmed cases by the 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, Seoul reported 105 cases, Gyeonggi 58, Incheon 22, Jeonbuk 15, Gangwon 12, Gyeongnam 11, Chungnam 9, Jeonnam 9, Gyeongbuk 6, Gwangju 5, and Busan 3.
