On the 20th, TV Chosun's "We Got Divorced" aired a reunion between YouTuber Choigogi and his ex-wife, also a YouTuber, Yukkaetip.
Choigogi and Yukkaetip got married at the ages of 26 and 24, respectively. Their daughter Solip was born two months after the wedding, but they announced their divorce last April after five years of marriage.
In the broadcast, the two met with bright and cheerful demeanors, asking about each other's well-being without hesitation. Choigogi was living in Suwon with their daughter Solip, while Yukkaetip was staying in Busan with her mother.
Yukkaetip's mother said, "I miss Solip a lot," adding, "If I had taken Solip when they divorced, no matter how hard it was, I would have raised her. I still think about that." Yukkaetip also said, "When I see photos or children of the same age passing by, I think of her more. As a mother, I feel sorry for not being able to be by her side," wiping away tears.
Choigogi also could not hide his regret toward his daughter. In an interview, he said, "Since her mother is gone, Solip keeps looking for her," adding, "I get choked up every time she looks for her mother. I think she still believes that her mom and dad are the same."
Meanwhile, in the broadcast, Choigogi mentioned the reason for the divorce with Yukkaetip and revealed that he carries emotional burdens regarding Yukkaetip and her mother.
Regarding his 80-year-old father, Choigogi said, "He is quite old. When I think of my father, it’s a bit difficult," adding, "He often jokes, saying 'I’m going to die soon...'. So I think I sided more with my father."
He continued, "In the past, when a man brought a house, the woman would bring the dowry. That part didn’t match when we got married. At the meeting with Yukkaetip’s family, my father spoke strongly about this, and her mother was hurt."
Choigogi said, "It must have been a big wound not only to my mother-in-law but also to Yukkaetip. Who wouldn’t be hurt if someone said something about their parents? No matter the dowry or house, he shouldn’t have said it like that," expressing concern for Yukkaetip. Hearing this, Yukkaetip wiped away tears as if she was choked up.
Meanwhile, in the same broadcast, Choigogi’s father harshly criticized his former daughter-in-law Yukkaetip, saying, "From one to ten, she’s a total zero."
He added, "There’s no woman like her in the world. She’s zero as a woman. Did she ever greet me? She hasn’t greeted me for years. Did she ever perform a New Year’s bow during holidays? From one to ten, she’s a total zero," showing an intense reaction that surprised the cast.
Meanwhile, "We Got Divorced," the show they appeared on, is an observational entertainment program where divorced celebrity couples reunite and live together under one roof. It airs every Friday at 10 p.m.
