Special Lectures on Various Human Rights Issues for Seniors, Children, and Women, Held Every Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM, November 18 to December 9 (4 Sessions)

Opening of Dobong-gu Residents' Human Rights School


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) will open the "8th Dobong-gu Resident Human Rights School" starting on the 18th to spread a culture of respect for human rights in the local community and raise awareness of various human rights issues.


This special lecture will be held every Wednesday from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Dobong-gu Office Ginkgo Room (B1) from November 18 to December 9.


The district has prepared high-quality lectures focusing on recent human rights issues under four themes: general human rights, senior citizens, children, and women's rights.


On the first day of the lecture, the 18th, Oh Chang-ik, Secretary General of the Human Rights Solidarity, will deliver an easy-to-understand talk on overall human rights under the theme "Lecture 1: Human Rights Leading Me and My Neighbors to Happiness."


On the 25th, human rights activist Cho Hye-wook will reflect on senior citizens' rights under the theme "Lecture 2: Living as Seniors and Citizens."


On December 2, Hong Ui-pyo, a member of the Dobong-gu Human Rights Committee, will discuss children's rights under the theme "Lecture 3: COVID-19 and Children's Rights."


On December 9, human rights activist Lee Ho-yeon will talk about women's rights under the theme "Lecture 4: Understanding the World through Women's Rights."


The Resident Human Rights School is open to any residents interested in human rights.


Applications can be made through the Dobong-gu Office website under ‘Participation → Internet Registration & Survey’ or by calling the Integrity and Human Rights Team in the Audit Department.


Additionally, the district announced that to prevent the spread of COVID-19, wearing masks will be mandatory for participants, and strict adherence to COVID-19 prevention safety guidelines will be enforced.


Mayor Lee Dong-jin of Dobong-gu stated, “Through this Resident Human Rights School, we hope to awaken human rights awareness in daily life and increase residents' interest and sensitivity to human rights,” adding, “As social interest in human rights grows, the district will continue to promote various human rights policies.”
