[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Konic Glory announced that it is promoting the game business as a new venture and plans to launch the new game IDLE ANGELS (Idle Angel: Goddess War) in the domestic and Japanese markets within this year.
A Konic Glory official stated, "IDLE ANGELS was globally launched through Konic Glory's largest shareholder and has maintained favorable performance so far," adding, "We expect to achieve sales of $70 million (approximately 78.1 billion KRW) in the Korean and Japanese markets next year."
IDLE ANGELS is a game that highlights the strengths of idle games and collection nurturing RPGs. It is a game where players collect and nurture goddess characters created with lifelike graphics. Since IDLE ANGELS is already a completed game, it is scheduled to be launched within this year once the related permits and approvals are finalized.
The background for Konic Glory's launch of the new game IDLE ANGELS lies in the close collaboration with Joyport, a special stakeholder of the largest shareholder, following the change of the largest shareholder earlier this year. IDLE ANGELS was jointly developed by Joyport and a domestic game developer in the past, and Joyport, which owns the game's IP, has already conducted a global launch. Recently, Konic Glory signed a publishing rights contract for the Korean and Japanese markets through Joyport, and since Joyport is a shareholder, the acquisition price and revenue-sharing terms were set more favorably than the industry average.
IDLE ANGELS began testing in May this year and officially launched in October. It is currently published in over 150 countries in more than 10 languages, including English, Chinese, and Thai. Since its release, it has continued to gain popularity, achieving cumulative sales of $5.5 million (approximately 610 million KRW) to date.
