Kyonggi University (President Kim In-gyu) appointed 24 alumni celebrities who are actively working in the field of popular culture and arts as promotional ambassadors to celebrate its 73rd anniversary.
On the 5th at 11 a.m., Kyonggi University held the ‘K-Star Promotional Ambassador Appointment Ceremony’ at the K-Studio on the Seoul Seodaemun Campus, appointing celebrity alumni as promotional ambassadors to shine a light on Kyonggi University and launching the promotional team.
The promotional ambassadors among singers include Wi Il-cheong of Seoul Family, Jo Sung-mo, Moon Hee-jun of HOT, Lee Ji-hyun of Jewelry, Kan Mi-yeon and Shim Eun-jin of Baby V.O.X, Ha Hyun-gon of Click-B, Kim Na-hee of Miss Trot, Shin Jun-ki of Buzz, Yell (Kim Hye-mi), and Faro (Yoon Seok-jun), totaling 11 participants.

A Kyonggi University official said, “Recently, the Hallyu wave has been gaining momentum worldwide,” adding, “The K-Star promotional ambassadors, composed of alumni leading the Hallyu wave, will promote Kyonggi University through various activities and are expected to contribute to the university’s domestic and international promotion and development.”
Director Kim Sung-hwan expressed his preliminary thoughts, saying, “I am grateful for the appointment as a promotional ambassador to serve my alma mater. I hope meetings among celebrity alumni will continue frequently, and I will do my best to support the school’s prestige and development.”
Kyonggi University President Kim In-gyu expressed his gratitude, stating, “Through the activities of celebrity promotional ambassadors leading the Hallyu wave, current students and alumni of Kyonggi University will feel a sense of solidarity, which is expected to greatly contribute to fostering pride in Kyonggi University.”
Kyonggi University boasts strong influence in the entertainment industry by producing many star celebrities. Based on this, it successfully established and has been operating the Graduate School of Hallyu Culture since 2019.
Currently, the Graduate School of Hallyu Culture offers five departments and seven majors, including K-Culture Convergence, K-Beauty, and Performing Arts, nurturing talents who will be responsible for the global expansion of future Hallyu.
