On the 1st, LG Electronics announced that it will hold a 'KOREA Sale FESTA Special Exhibition' throughout November, offering discounts on major products in line with the country's largest shopping event, the '2020 KOREA Sale FESTA.'
LG Electronics expanded the number of participating items from 15 last year to 19 this year, making the scale of participation the largest ever.
LG Electronics provides discount benefits centered on large TVs that are highly preferred by customers. The 65-inch OLED TV is sold at 2.89 million KRW, discounted by 300,000 KRW from the shipment price. The selling price of the 55-inch OLED TV is 1.89 million KRW. This is the lowest price of the year for the respective model.
LG Electronics sells two types of ‘LG DIOS Ice Water Purifier Refrigerator,’ which simultaneously achieve space and energy savings as well as hygiene management, at 3.4 million KRW, 24% cheaper than the shipment price.
Ahead of the kimchi-making season, LG DIOS kimchi refrigerators, including seven popular models, are included. These products have a capacity of 400L, which customers prefer the most, and can be purchased at 2 to 2.85 million KRW, up to 15% discounted from the shipment price.
Samsung Electronics is also participating in the KOREA Sale FESTA on the largest scale ever. Samsung Digital Plaza will lead discount sales of the latest electronic products, gift giveaways, and prize events.
An industry official said, "Home appliance companies are participating in this year's KOREA Sale FESTA on a larger scale than last year," adding, "There is a strong will to stimulate consumption and increase sales that have been sluggish due to COVID-19."
Meanwhile, the KOREA Sale FESTA Promotion Committee hosts the event, supported by the government and 17 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, and it will be held simultaneously online and offline for two weeks until the 15th.
This year, 1,633 companies are participating, the largest scale ever, exceeding last year. In particular, representative consumer goods manufacturers directly related to people's daily lives, such as automobiles, clothing, home appliances, and cosmetics, are participating at three times last year's scale.
Participating companies have prepared various discount events and various gift and prize events. In the home appliance and digital industry, 68 companies including major companies such as Samsung and LG, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises like Cuchen and Winia Daewoo, are participating, offering discounts of up to 40% on popular products such as TVs, refrigerators, and laptops.
