[Asia Economy Reporter Nahana] Former Liberty Korea Party (now People Power Party) lawmaker Na Kyung-won revealed that her son will enlist in the military in the 2020s. In response, Kim Geun-sik, chairman of the Songpa-byeong district committee of the People Power Party and professor at Gyeongnam National University, sarcastically remarked, "What about Cho Kuk's son? Cho Kuk should stop the nonsense about prosecutorial reform and focus on his son's military enlistment first."
On the 1st, Professor Kim wrote on his Facebook, addressing former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, "Cho Kuk should stop the outdated nonsense about prosecutorial reform, pay attention to his own trial, and take care of his son's military enlistment first."
Professor Kim emphasized that although former lawmaker Na and former Minister Cho were classmates from the 1982 class at Seoul National University Law School and have taken different paths after graduation, they both face the same issue of their sons' military enlistment.
He added, "Na Kyung-won's son is scheduled to enlist in 2020. The reason he came from the United States is also for enlistment," and sarcastically asked, "What about Cho Kuk?"
He continued, "If Cho Kuk does not enlist his son this year either, he might borrow Minister Kang Kyung-hwa's wording and say, 'My son is not someone who can be persuaded just by trying to persuade him,'" criticizing him.
Finally, he predicted, "In the promise of son's enlistment, Na Kyung-won will win, and Cho Kuk will end up lying again."
