Na Kyung-won "My son will enlist soon... Parents of dual citizenship children are openly ministers"

Na Kyung-won "My son will enlist soon... Parents of dual citizenship children are openly ministers"

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Former People Power Party lawmaker Na Kyung-won revealed, "My son will soon enlist in the military." She also sharply refuted last year's allegations of overseas childbirth and dual citizenship raised by the ruling party and pro-government media, stating, "I am not the kind of person who lives like that."

On the 1st, former lawmaker Na mentioned the overseas childbirth and her son's dual citizenship controversy on her Facebook, saying, "When I saw Professor Seo Min's Facebook post addressed to former Minister Cho Kuk, the 'overseas childbirth' attacks surrounding my son suddenly came to mind."

She continued, "One day, a place called Richmond Postpartum Care Center, which I had never heard of before, appeared in real-time search along with my name, and false information began to be systematically spread in certain ideological communities," adding, "Even the ruling party issued an official statement and joined this witch hunt."

She also said, "Since that care center opened after my son's birth year, no matter how much I explained that it was a groundless slander, they stubbornly insisted, 'It operated before that,' and busied themselves creating suspicions," and added, "Thus, another 'Na Kyung-won issue' was produced."

On the same day, regarding her son's enlistment, Na said, "It is an obligation that must naturally be fulfilled as a citizen of the Republic of Korea, but still, as the enlistment date approaches, my heart grows heavier, and there is nothing I can do about it," dismissing the controversy.

The post by Professor Seo Min that Na referred to was uploaded on the 31st with the title, 'Former Minister Cho Kuk, two months left.'

Professor Seo pointed out, "Former Minister Cho hates lies. Especially, he abhors lies related to his children and files lawsuits promptly," and added, "But about the enlistment story of Cho Kuk's son last year, if he does not enlist within the remaining two months, it will become another spread of false information."

Earlier, in September last year, Na denied the allegations of overseas childbirth in the U.S. and her son's dual citizenship, stating, "Neither is true." However, former Democratic Party deputy spokesperson Lee Kyung demanded the disclosure of her son's hospital birth records and Na's immigration records in a statement, saying, "She said it is not overseas childbirth or dual citizenship, but suspicions remain."

On this day, Na said, "I thought, 'If I show the birth certificate, what kind of absurd false suspicion will they create next?'" and sharply criticized, "Parents with dual citizenship children openly serve as ministers."
