[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hye-min] Independent lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo harshly criticized the People Power Party on the 1st, asking, "Is the new path the party pursues a Democratic Party second-string party?"

On that day, Hong posted on his Facebook, "I tried to endure and wait as much as possible, but it is hard to tolerate the party's downfall," making such a resolute statement.

He said, "They gave up all the standing committee chairmanships, conducted a bland audit of state affairs, allowed the establishment of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, passed the three economic bills, approved the budget, and now they say they will even give up the public medical school that caused the medical crisis," adding, "Even though I advised them to practice great politics (大人政治), their own members are splitting and pushing each other aside for all sorts of reasons, and they are rushing to the first-term lawmakers who were expelled from the Democratic Party as soon as they were kicked out," sharpening his words. This appears to be a jab at the People Power Party leadership, who immediately sent a love call when former lawmaker Geum Tae-seop left the Democratic Party.

Hong likened Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl to "Moon Jae-in President's jugoo (走狗, hunting dog)" and pointed out, "Is a party that is desperate to bring in someone who maliciously investigated us through political investigations the new path for the opposition party?"

He continued, "Among the 103 lawmakers, is there not a single proper person to take charge and run the party? Are we going to become cattle being led to the slaughterhouse again like this?" and fiercely criticized, "That is how we suffered impeachment."

Hong added, "Are we going to hide behind the years again and fail miserably? Even if the party ends up like that, is it okay as long as my term as a lawmaker is guaranteed?" and said, "If you have been hurt once, you should not be hurt twice."
