We Will Actively Strive to Develop Various Livelihood Policies for the Success of the Moon Jae-in Government
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Kim Yong-seok, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's Administrative Autonomy Committee (The Democratic Party of Korea, Dobong 1), was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Policy Committee through the resolution of the Democratic Party of Korea's Supreme Council on the 28th.
According to Article 42 of the Democratic Party of Korea's Party Charter, the "Democratic Party of Korea Policy Committee" is a core executive body responsible for drafting and deliberating the party's policies, playing a role in facilitating the smooth implementation of government national tasks and policy development.
It also holds authority over investigating, researching, deliberating, and drafting matters necessary for realizing the party's platform and basic policies, reviewing bills submitted to the National Assembly such as legislative proposals, coordinating between the party and government on policies, and reviewing and proposing alternatives to government policies.
As the representative member of the Democratic Party of Korea in the first half of the Seoul Metropolitan Council and the president of the National Association of Metropolitan Council Members of the Democratic Party of Korea, Kim Yong-seok has worked hard for the development of local councils. He was recognized for pioneering legislative activities for citizens' lives by being the first nationwide to enact ordinances such as the Youth Basic Ordinance, Sewol Ferry Disaster Memorial Ordinance, Support Ordinance for Elderly Scrap Collectors, and Safe Restroom Ordinance against Hidden Cameras.
Kim Yong-seok pledged, "As the Vice Chairman of the Policy Committee, I will strive harder to discover various livelihood policies and engage in legislative activities that directly impact the people who are going through difficult times due to COVID-19 and economic recession."
