[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] OK Savings Bank announced on the 29th that it conducted financial consumer education for the elderly at the Seoul Municipal Seongbuk Senior Welfare Center.
OK Savings Bank is expanding financial consumer protection education for financially vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and disabled, who are in blind spots of financial information, along with the ‘One Company One School’ youth financial education program hosted by the Financial Supervisory Service.
This education session was designed to learn about increasingly sophisticated and elaborate electronic financial fraud, such as voice phishing, and how to prevent it. It also included reviewing actual voice phishing scenarios conducted via phone calls and text messages, providing prevention methods and guidance on how to apply for damage relief. In particular, information on smishing crimes impersonating family members, relatives, and acquaintances was also delivered, emphasizing the need to be cautious about the increasingly diverse financial crimes.
Jung Gil-ho, CEO of OK Savings Bank, stated, “Regardless of whether they are our customers, it is meaningful to continuously provide correct financial information in an easy and enjoyable way, and to reflect this in our business policies and company systems for mutual growth, so we will continue to conduct financial consumer protection education.”
