'2020 Han-ASEAN Fashion Week' October 29-31 at F1963, Suyeong-gu, Busan
Designer Fashion Show and Digital Video Forum... Fully Online Live Broadcast Without Audience
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The '2020 Korea-ASEAN Fashion Week,' a fashion festival involving Korea and the 10 ASEAN countries, will be held from the 29th to the 31st at F1963 in Suyeong-gu, Busan, without an audience and broadcast live online.
The 'Korea-ASEAN Fashion Week' is the only major domestic event for the fashion industries of Korea and ASEAN, initiated following the 2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Summit held in Busan last year. The event is hosted by Busan City and organized by the Busan Economic Promotion Agency.
Last year, the 'Korea-ASEAN Fashion Week' was held on a large scale at BEXCO to allow fashion industry stakeholders and citizens from the respective countries to enjoy various fashion shows. However, this year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the event has been converted entirely to a no-audience, on-tact (online contact) format.
For three days, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, the event can be viewed via live streaming on the official website and the YouTube channel 'Korea-ASEAN Fashion Week TV.'
The detailed programs include ▲ the 'Korea-ASEAN Fashion Show,' featuring 24 renowned fashion designers from Korea and the 10 ASEAN countries, and ▲ the 'University Fashion Festival Fashion Show,' showcasing prospective designers from eight universities in the Busan area.
On the final day of the event, the 31st, a 'ASEAN Fashion Development Digital Video Forum' will be held under the theme 'Post-COVID-19 Era, Proactive Response Strategies for the New Fashion Industry Environment.' Despite travel restrictions between countries due to COVID-19, the forum aims to maintain exchanges and prevent disruption of the fashion network between Korea and ASEAN countries.
Various events for citizens interested in fashion trends will also be held. These include a 'Official Website Membership Registration Event' and a 'Real-time Chat Participation Event,' offering gifts to members and YouTube subscribers. Membership registration is available on the official website.
Byun Sung-wan, Acting Mayor of Busan, stated, "We will minimize the number of people on-site, including designers, models, and staff, and do our best to ensure thorough quarantine measures." He added, "This event will break the mold of traditional face-to-face fashion shows and emerge as a fashion event leading the new era."
