Sharing Major Lunar New Year Projects and Current Issues and Discussing Promotion Directions

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Roh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, held the ‘2020 Resident District Administration Evaluation Group District Council Regular Meeting’ at 11 a.m. on the 28th in the district office’s main conference room to discuss the progress of major pending projects.

The meeting agenda included operating non-face-to-face programs for middle-aged and older adults exhausted by COVID-19, installing multifunctional traffic enforcement equipment within elementary school child protection zones to create safe school routes, and sharing the achievement of securing the largest-ever 7.53 billion KRW for next year’s citizen participation budget.

The meeting was conducted while strictly adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines, minimizing the number of people allowed in the conference room, maintaining social distancing, installing transparent partitions, conducting temperature checks, and wearing masks.

Mayor Roh Hyun-song said, “Thanks to the residents who showed interest in district administration and cooperated despite the unprecedented situation of COVID-19, we were able to achieve good results in various internal and external fields. I will do my best to ensure balanced regional development and smooth progress of major projects during the remainder of my term.”

Meanwhile, Gangseo-gu received high external evaluations, including being awarded the ‘Top Grade for 9 Consecutive Years’ in the 2020 evaluation of basic local government heads’ campaign promises during the 7th local election term, ‘Excellent District for 6 Consecutive Years’ in the 2020 government joint evaluation, and ‘Top Local Government’ in the 2020 local government financial analysis.
