On the 26th-27th at Samsung-dong Trade Center, 'K-Quarantine Best Practices' Webinar Featuring Topic Presentations and Export Consultations
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) held the ‘Korea-UAE Healthcare Week’ in an ‘Ontact’ format at the Trade Center in Samseong-dong on the 26th and 27th, in cooperation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Korea International Trade Association, and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, to support the entry of the stagnant domestic medical market into the Middle East.
This event followed the online video business agreement signed last month on the 24th with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, the first of its kind nationwide, aiming to help domestic companies develop online sales channels as overseas demand for ‘K-Medical’ has surged due to COVID-19.
On the first day, the 26th, Yang O-seung, Director of Gangnam-gu Public Health Center, and Nail Clark, Director of Healthcare Planning at Abu Dhabi Health Authority, gave presentations on ‘K-Quarantine Best Practices’ and ‘Healthcare Industry and Investment Opportunities,’ respectively. The event was held in the form of a webinar (web + seminar) using the video conferencing platform ‘Zoom’ to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
On the 27th, during the consultation session, 18 buyers from the Middle East and 35 domestic companies in fields such as protective equipment and medical devices conducted export consultations via video conference.
Kim Kwang-soo, Director of Tourism Promotion, said, “Next year, we will actively support domestic companies’ global expansion in various fields such as tourism, medical care, and startups by holding ‘video medical expos’ and ‘export consultation meetings’ using online platforms.”
