Hyundai Glovis Wins Global Standard Management Award for 'Green and Safety Excellence'

Two-Time Consecutive Double Champion

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Hyundai Glovis announced on the 27th that it received the Green and Safety Management Awards at the Global Standard Management Awards ceremony hosted by the Korea Management Registrar (KMR) and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Now in its 19th year, the Global Standard Management Awards objectively evaluate companies' management strategies, future value, products, and services to enhance global competitiveness, awarding a total of 10 categories. Among these, the Green Management Award is given to companies that establish and implement eco-friendly management strategies to enhance new value as a sustainable growth engine, while the Safety Management Award is given to companies that lead industrial society by introducing and practicing safety-focused management.

Hyundai Glovis received the Green Management Award for the third consecutive year in recognition of its contribution to providing various eco-friendly logistics services to consignors. Especially this year, Hyundai Glovis was highly evaluated for its continuous practice and efforts in eco-friendly management, confirmed by repeated Green Management Awards, and also received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.

To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Hyundai Glovis actively implemented modal shift by converting cargo truck road transport to coastal maritime transport, reducing approximately 70,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. It also signed an agreement with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and introduced about 20 lightweight trailers. In addition, Hyundai Glovis introduced safety-focused management and, under the motto "One Glovis! One Safety," continuously strengthened its safety and health system, winning the Safety Management Award for two consecutive years.

This year, Hyundai Glovis conducted ISO 45001 integrated certification audits for 45 domestic business sites and 11 overseas subsidiaries, aiming to establish a global integrated safety management system.

A Hyundai Glovis official said, "This award is the result of Hyundai Glovis practicing environmentally conscious management and strengthening safety management across all domestic and international business areas," adding, "We will strive to spread eco-friendly logistics environments and safety management culture not only domestically but also in the global market."
