Goheung-gun and Nowon-gu Successfully Host Direct Trade Market for Agricultural and Marine Specialty Products

Participation of 28 Local Businesses and Farms, Sales Exceeding 240 Million KRW

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeonnam Goheung-gun announced on the 26th that the ‘Clean Goheung Agricultural and Marine Specialty Direct Market’ held in Nowon-gu for three days from the 22nd to the 24th was successfully concluded with great response.

This direct market, held for the fourth time since the sisterhood agreement last year, involved 28 local companies and farms from Goheung-gun selling about 100 agricultural and marine products including yuzu, seafood, and new rice.

During the event, 70% of the participating companies achieved sold-out status, generating sales of approximately 240 million KRW, achieving the highest sales ever for the direct market jointly held by both sides.

A representative of one of the participating companies said, “I also participated in the direct market in May and sold out, but this time I prepared even more products and they were all sold, so I am very happy,” adding, “I am grateful to Goheung-gun and Nowon-gu and would like to participate again in the next direct market,” with a smile.

To support farms struggling due to COVID-19, many Nowon-gu residents wore masks and visited the site in cold weather to purchase high-quality Goheung agricultural and marine products, showing enthusiastic response.

An official from the county stated, “Since signing the sisterhood agreement with Nowon-gu last year, the direct market established to revitalize the economy depressed by COVID-19 has continuously received great response,” and added, “We will continue to cooperate with Nowon-gu to promote various agricultural and marine specialty products including direct markets.”
