The Grand Prize goes to Director Woo Min-ho's 'Namsan's Chiefs'
The Korean Film Critics Association announced on the 26th that Lee Byung-hun and Jung Yu-mi have been selected as the winners of the Best Actor and Best Actress awards at the 40th Korean Film Critics Awards. The two actors delivered outstanding performances in "Namsan's Department Heads" and "Kim Ji-young, Born 1982," respectively. The Best Film Award goes to "Namsan's Department Heads," which was also selected as South Korea's submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 93rd Academy Awards on the 22nd. Director Lim Dae-hyung's "Yoon Hee-gae" won three awards: Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Music (Kim Hae-won).
Kim Mi-kyung from "Kim Ji-young, Born 1982" and Park Jung-min from "Deliver Us from Evil" won the Best Supporting Actor and Actress awards, respectively. The Best New Director award goes to Yoon Dan-bi, who directed "Night of Sisters." Kang Mal-geum from "Lucky Chan-sil" and Kwak Min-gyu from "The Land" received the Best New Actor and Actress awards, respectively. "Peninsula" won the Technical Award (Special Effects) and Cinematography Award (Lee Hyung-deok). Director Hong Sang-soo of "The Woman Who Ran" received the International Federation of Film Critics Korea Branch Award. The awards ceremony will be held on the 11th of next month at KG Harmony Hall, KG Tower, Jung-gu, Seoul.
