"Opportunity for Consumption Rebound is Emerging"
"Our Quarantine System is Functioning Effectively"

President Moon: "Even While Enjoying Autumn Foliage, Please Strictly Follow Quarantine Rules" President Moon Jae-in is presiding over the senior secretaries and aides meeting at the Blue House on the 26th.

President Moon Jae-in said on the 26th, "Please make sure to follow the quarantine rules even as you stretch out your daily activities that have been tightly restrained, enjoy the autumn foliage, and add vitality to economic activities."

During the senior secretaries and presidential aides meeting held at the Blue House that day, President Moon stated in his opening remarks, "For the easing measures to continue, we must succeed in quarantine even with the relaxed measures. We must never be complacent or careless," emphasizing this point.

President Moon mentioned that with social distancing eased to Level 1, signs of economic rebound are also appearing.

He said, "It is fortunate that quarantine measures are being eased according to the quarantine achievements, and economic activities are gradually returning to normal," adding, "As consumption gradually revives, an opportunity for consumption rebound is being created." He further added, "I hope we can seize this opportunity to lead a rapid economic recovery."

President Moon also emphasized that the government is implementing various policies to boost domestic demand. He said, "Along with the phased resumption of consumer coupon distribution, we have begun to fully implement comprehensive measures to revitalize domestic demand in areas such as consumption, dining out, tourism, performances, exhibitions, and culture," and requested, "I ask the public to join in stimulating consumption."

President Moon also expressed confidence in the quarantine efforts. He said, "Globally, the daily number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is approaching 500,000, and as the threat of a second wave intensifies, emergency measures such as re-lockdowns are being strengthened in many parts of the world, including Europe," adding, "In contrast, we have become a special and exceptional country that has eased quarantine measures."

He continued, "Although the percentage of cases with unidentified infection routes exceeded 27% a month ago, it has since steadily decreased to about 11% currently," emphasizing, "The fact that the infection routes of confirmed cases are being identified relatively quickly and accurately indicates that our quarantine system is operating effectively."
