[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] On the 26th, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam held an opening ceremony to commemorate the completion of the waterfront deck road at the viewing deck in Ip-gok County Park, Sanin-myeon.
About 20 officials attended the opening ceremony, including Jo Geun-je, Haman County Governor, Lee Kwang-seop, Chairman of Haman County Council, and Choi Jae-ho, Head of the Korea Rural Community Corporation Haman Branch. The event proceeded with a project progress report, commemorative photo session, and exploration of the waterfront deck road.
This project, part of the Ip-gok County Park revitalization project pledged during the 7th local government term, has invested a total of 2.35 billion KRW from 2018 to this year.
According to the county, the first phase of the project, funded with 1.2 billion KRW of county funds, opened last year a 950m section from near the suspension bridge in Ip-gok Reservoir to the Ip-gok Reservoir parking lot. This year, the second phase was completed with a total project cost of 1.15 billion KRW, constructing a 505m section from the end of the Aragil bicycle road to near the suspension bridge.
Following that, a 255m section from the reservoir embankment end to the octagonal pavilion was created, completing a total length of 1.71 km waterfront deck road in August. Among these, the 255m section from the reservoir embankment end to the octagonal pavilion was carried out by the Korea Rural Community Corporation Haman Branch with a project cost of 450 million KRW.
Ip-gok County Park is a natural ecological tourism site where visitors come year-round due to its beautiful natural scenery. The picturesque Ip-gok Reservoir and surrounding landscapes blend harmoniously, offering unique seasonal charms like a landscape painting.
Jo Geun-je, Haman County Governor, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Korea Rural Community Corporation Haman Branch for their wholehearted support to ensure the smooth progress of this project. Moving forward, we will do our best to establish Ip-gok County Park as a representative ecological tourism site and a nature-friendly healing space in Gyeongnam by installing a sky cycle, improving convenience facilities within the forest bathing area, and expanding nighttime attractions with various experiential and convenience facilities.”
