Damyang-gun Establishes 'Damyang Mall' at Dambit Agricultural Center

[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 26th that it held a briefing session on the establishment of a corporation for the operation of Damyang Mall and investment, attended by about 40 representatives of local processed food producers, at the conference room on the 3rd floor of the Dambit Agricultural Center.

The county created Damyang Mall, a sales promotion center of about 40 pyeong on the 1st floor of the Dambit Agricultural Center located in Cheonbyeon-ri, Damyang-eup, to revitalize sales of local processed products and build a platform.

Here, local processed products will be sold both online and offline.

The county has completed the briefing session, the election of operating executives, and the interior work of the sales center, and plans to complete the recruitment of corporate investors and the establishment of the corporation through briefing sessions held on this day and the 28th due to COVID-19, and open it in December this year.

In operation, local processing companies will establish a corporation composed of members and aim to increase income through scaling by linking directly with large stores for special sales events and participating in various food expos.

Along with exhibition sales, a consulting project will be conducted to invite overseas buyers, home shopping merchandise planners (MDs), and large distribution buyers to see local processed foods in one place, select excellent products, share information, and enhance the value of products.

In addition, by introducing a county quality certification system, supporting self-quality inspection costs to improve product reliability, supporting packaging design development, live commerce, and detailed page production, the county plans to simultaneously build online and offline sales platforms to boost sales of local agricultural products.

Governor Choi Hyung-sik said, “We will do our best to ensure that local processed products sold at Damyang Mall continue the pride of being the nation’s top brand and successfully perform the role of a platform to increase the actual income of local residents.”
