Kia Motors Gwangju Plant Delivers Mask and Strap Sets to Vulnerable Groups

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Kia Motors Gwangju Plant (Plant Manager Park Rae-seok) announced on the 26th that, amid the increasing importance of protective supplies such as masks due to the spread of COVID-19, it delivered masks and mask straps to help vulnerable groups in the local community with personal protection.

In response to the COVID-19 era, Kia Motors Gwangju Plant carried out a mask strap production activity to prevent loss and contamination of masks as a non-face-to-face social contribution activity to support the local community, and with enthusiastic participation from employees, produced 400 mask straps.

On the same day at 10 a.m., during a delivery ceremony held at the main building of Kia Motors Gwangju Plant, the company delivered mask and strap sets worth approximately 5 million KRW, consisting of two reusable masks, a mask storage eco bag, and the self-produced mask straps, to the Gwangju Metropolitan City Social Welfare Council.

The mask and strap sets will be distributed to 400 vulnerable individuals in the local community, including single-parent (grandparent-headed) families, people with disabilities, and the elderly, through the Gwangju Metropolitan City Social Welfare Council.

Kia Motors Gwangju Plant hopes that the delivered mask and strap sets will provide even a small help to neighbors in need, and furthermore, expects that various non-face-to-face social contribution activities will spread more widely in the local community.

A Kia Motors official said, “We delivered masks and mask straps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to help vulnerable groups in the local community with personal protection,” adding, “Kia Motors Gwangju Plant will continue to pay attention to the difficulties of vulnerable groups in the local community and carry out ongoing social contribution activities.”
