Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station, Core Competency Enhancement Training for Paramedics

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Im Jongbok) announced on the 25th that it conducted a training session to strengthen the core competencies of 119 paramedics, hosted by the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters and Chonnam National University Hospital, on the 23rd.


This training was conducted for 10 paramedics. Emergency medicine staff, including Professor Lee Hyungyeon from the Department of Emergency Medicine at Chonnam National University Hospital, participated and provided theoretical instruction on trauma patient care to improve survival rates of critically ill emergency patients, as well as practical training on airway intubation and securing intravenous access.


Additionally, to prevent COVID-19 infection, in-person training was conducted in small groups, and education related to cerebrovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and stroke was provided to all 119 paramedics through non-face-to-face online training.


Chief Im Jongbok stated, “We will do our best to ensure that citizens receive higher quality emergency services through active communication and exchange among emergency medical service providers in the region.”
