Hwasun-gun Holds Final Report Meeting on Research Project for Creating a Women-Friendly City

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 23rd that it held the final report meeting for the establishment of the mid- to long-term plan for creating a women-friendly city on the 22nd.

The county plans to establish a mid- to long-term project implementation plan reflecting the results of the final report meeting.

At the meeting, Kim Jong-gap, Deputy Governor, members of the Hwasun-gun Gender Equality Committee, and heads of the citizen participation group divisions attended and exchanged various opinions.

The agency in charge of the project proposed the conditions for creating a women-friendly city, analysis results of the women-friendly city demand survey, women-friendly city policy tasks and phased implementation plans, and detailed project tasks.

The report included the vision of “A premium Hwasun-gun, a women-friendly city made happier together,” and contained plans for promoting women-friendly city projects such as expanding women's economic and social participation, enhancing community safety, creating a family-friendly environment, and strengthening women's capacity for community activities.

Deputy Governor Kim Jong-gap said, “Please reflect the opinions of the citizen participation group and the final project results in new policies to create a safe and livable Hwasun not only for women but for all citizens.”

The county plans to submit an application to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to be designated as a women-friendly city.

They are preparing the final presentation in preparation for the evaluation, and the designation decision is expected to be made by the end of December.
