[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) announced on the 23rd that it will launch a campaign relay to support the successful hosting of the '2020 Korea Sale Festa.'
Kosepe is Korea's representative shopping week event where distribution, manufacturing, and service companies participate together with consumers. This year, it will be held from the 1st to the 15th of next month.
KIAT is participating in the sharing and donation campaign 'Korea Sale Festa High Five' and the cheering and encouragement campaign 'Thumbs Up Challenge' to spread the hopeful message of Kosepe.
The Korea Sale Festa High Five is an event that donates the proceeds from goods sales to public interest organizations to share warmth with neighbors in need, and the Thumbs Up Challenge is a challenge to support Kosepe by posting a thumbs-up pose on social media.
KIAT not only participates in sharing and donation by purchasing campaign goods but also donates the purchased items to Cheong-eum Welfare Center, a welfare facility for the hearing impaired.
In addition, to encourage small business owners and SMEs and spread messages of hope, KIAT is the first public institution to start the Thumbs Up Challenge. The next participants, the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and Korea Institute of Patent Strategy Development, will continue the challenge.
Seok Young-cheol, President of KIAT, said, "We are participating in the campaign to fulfill the social responsibility of public institutions amid the difficult economic situation caused by COVID-19," adding, "I hope the message of support will provide some strength to small business owners and SMEs."
