Daekyo, Nori Obtain US Patent for 'AI Learning Technology'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Daekyo announced on the 22nd that its math education platform company 'Nori' has obtained a U.S. patent for its artificial intelligence (AI) customized learning core technology.

The technology patented in the U.S. by Nori is a drill-down core technology using knowledge units for step-by-step learner progression. It is applied to Daekyo's main learning product, 'Summit.' Nori acquired a domestic patent in 2015 and has now obtained the U.S. patent as well.

This patented technology is used to analyze learning data and recommend customized content. It analyzes learning data exposed during problem-solving to identify weaknesses and helps supplement deficient areas to facilitate understanding of higher-level concepts.

Daekyo acquired Nori in August 2018. After acquiring Nori, it launched AI learning services such as 'Summit Speed Math' and 'Summit Score Math.'

A Nori representative said, "We expect that obtaining this U.S. patent will have a positive impact on other countries where patents are currently pending, including Europe, China, Japan, and Canada," adding, "In the future, we will utilize AI technology to lead the education market in various subjects using knowledge units, such as English, science, and engineering."
