[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Seven individuals connected to the murder of middle school teacher Samuel Paty (47) in Paris, France, have been handed over to an anti-terrorism judge, according to the daily newspaper Le Parisien on the 20th (local time).

Earlier this month, Paty showed his students an issue of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, which caricatured the Islamic prophet Muhammad, to explain 'freedom of expression' during class. On the 16th, he was killed by suspect Abdullah Anzorov (18). Anzorov was shot dead by police while fleeing immediately after the attack.

According to reports, two students from the middle school where Paty worked are included in the group of seven. They are suspected of receiving money from Anzorov, who sought to verify Paty's personal information before the incident occurred.

Additionally, French prosecutors confirmed that Brahim C (48), a parent of a student who raised issues about Paty's class, communicated with Anzorov via WhatsApp before the incident. Brahim C also posted a video on Facebook claiming that Paty was inciting Islamophobia and that action needed to be taken. At that time, he disclosed Paty's name, school address, and his own contact information.

Islamic activist Abdulhakim Sefrioui (61), who accompanied the parent during a school protest visit, is also expected to be indicted. In a video posted on YouTube, he referred to the teacher as a 'gangster' and criticized him.

Furthermore, French prosecutors have also targeted two friends who accompanied the suspect to purchase a weapon and one friend who drove the suspect to the crime scene for indictment.
